Bergen County is just moments away from New York, and just as diverse. While it's not very suburban, it's not a bustling city either. There are plenty of things to do, and plenty of places to go.
This mall is HUGE! All your major department stores are here, ranging from Macy's and JCPenny to Lord and Taylor, Nordstroms, and Neiman Marcus. This slightly upscale mall (Louis Vuitton just opened last Thanksgiving) has every major retailer you can think of, over 300 stores! It is closed on Sundays though, due to Bergen County's blue laws.
Shopping! House-hunting. Relaxing in insulated comfort. The Palisades overlooking NYC. The Meadowlands. Trips to NYC. Golf. Kayaking--yes, it's true. Earning and spending a ton of money. Restaurants. Jersey pizza. Bear Mountain, NY.
Bring money, and stay at friend's or relative's million-dollar house. Take a drive through Saddle River with the real estate listings and realize that your idea of "rich" does not come close. Very scenic year-round. Only a few places have criminal activities--mainly Hackensack, Englewood, and Teaneck. Stay north of Route 4, and it is like heaven. The public schools here rate like private schools and send an above-average amount to Ivy League colleges.
